Scripture Stories Activity

The girls really surprised me with their knowledge of the scriptures. They each talked about their favorite scripture and we looked a few of them up and read them from the scriptures. They all discussed what they knew from each story, and then we talked about how it shows us how to have faith in our Father in Heaven.

We then took a few minutes to update each of the girls "Faith in God" books. A few of the girls forgot to bring their book so you can mark off #6 in the Learning and Living the Gospel section. We also had a few of the girls pass off some of their Articles of Faith.

Our next activity is on the 8th of February. We will be doing a service project. It is a little later for the activity 6:30-7:30 and we are meeting at the church. The girls will be watching the younger kids from their families as well as a few other families in the ward so that the parents can go out for a quick Valentines treat.

Activities for 2012!!!

So today the girls and I got together to plan out their activities for approx the next 6 months. They had a lot of great ideas, and suggestions for activities.

If seems as though we have a bunch of lovers of the arts in the group. This last year they kept asking me to do an activity that would allow them to write, direct and star in a play. So I have given into their requests, and the girls are very excited to write a play, and perform it for all of you. This activity with take up a couple of our activity days so that they can write it, and rehearse it, and then perform it for you. It will pass off one of their goals which is to work on developing talents. I think it should be extremely fun, and entertaining to seem them at work, and I know they will have a blast performing it for you.

Check out the updated calendar. I do need all of the girls to bring their "Faith in God" books to the next activity so that I can update my spreadsheet to make sure all of the girls are where they should be. I love working with your girls, and can't wait to see what they come up with for their play!

PS: We want to wish Erica Newman a fond farewell as she moves onto Young Womens. She turns 12 on the 18th and will be missed, but I know she will excell in the Young Womens Program. Miss you Erica!!!
